After the Storm

Sometimes life is hard. It seems that there are so many hard things happening to those I love and people around me lately. Thousands evacuated from their homes because of wild fires. Family members passing away. Illness. Unemployment. Depression. Lots of heartache and prayers seemingly unanswered.

I came across a few posts on facebook lately. I follow HONY (Humans of New York), and they've been posting stories of pediatric cancer patients and doctors. So many stories of hardship, loss, and the fight to survive. Another story of a mother who suffered postpartum depression and lost her life because of it, came across my feed today. So much sadness. Life is hard.

Just after reading these stories, I came across this video

Life is hard sometimes, but Christ has felt it all. He is there to comfort us. Our pain and our trials are not always taken away. This life is not the end. When I remember that, my heart aches just a little bit less and I am reminded of God's love for us. He loves us and sent His Son here to help succor us. Without him, we are lost. With Him, all is possible, and hope and peace can fill our souls.

Thank you for sharing this, Megan! What a neat video. I especially enjoyed your beautiful thoughts. Sometimes it all does seem overwhelming. I like to read the words of the ever optimistic and inspiring Gordon B. Hinckley when it does. :D
